  • Long time...

I am not quite sure when I blogged last, but I know that I have nto forgotten how this works, so lets give it a whirl, shall we?

It's Christmas break, and I am home, in Minnesota. What a beautiful state this is. It really wasn't until a year and half ago that I realized that. Beautiful lakes, wonderful cities, everything you could ask for. and some of the friendliest people on earth. Thats Minnesota nice for you. At this moment, I am enjoying a c.d. a friend made for me, whom I must say, has great taste in music. Little Luke Williams from St. Joe is wanting me to join him in a game of online poker. He is probably like 13 and he likes to steal all of my fake money with his mad poker skills. But before I do that, I will finish these sweet tarts (Thank God for sisters who fill your stalkings with wonderful candies) and update you on how God is working.

God is working. All the time. He does not EVER take a break and I have found that to be very true in my life. It is so easy to go day to day without giving God the glory for what he has done. If I have learned anything in the last few weeks it is that God is ever present in my life, and always surprising me with new friendships and the occasional strengthening of old ones. Just as God is ever present in our lives, it is essential to remember that we, as His followers, need to be a constant reminder to our friends and families of who God is. The Holy Spirit living in us should be constantly seeping out through our actions and words. Also, there is nothing that should not be prayed about. Ok, well, maybe you do not need to pray about whether you should use grape jelly or strawberry jam on your sandwich, but if it is important enough to cause turmoil or stress in your life, than it needs to be brought before God. It is too easy to gossip or vent about our angers or frustrations with others. But it is ever so important to remember that God is the ultimate answerer and provider of our help. Council from other Christians is great, but nothing is more satisfying or fulfilling than knowing that God is working in that situation. Let me just say that God is incredible, and there is nothing better than knowing the Lord.

Well, Luke is getting frustrated with me, so I better go make things right. I have enjoyed this not so triumphal return to xanga, and I hope it continues soon, not in another year or two.

    Blessings!

  • It has seriously been a long time.

I dont even know who does this anymore! But i will give a quick update.

Still in school at Crown, but i am transferring to a private Christian school in Missouri next fall. I am very excited about it.

I recently got back from Bible Quizzing nationals in Lake of the Ozarks, MO. It was very fun! I coached a team, and we had fun together. Revelation (TFC top team) made it into the championship quiz and ranked 3rd overall out of 54 teams. But, we did not go to Sonic on the way home, so I was sad.

What else? I'm hopefully going on a missions trip to London this june for three weeks. (if i can raise the money) and then coming back on July 7th. I will be back for my birthday on the 8th (whohoo 19!) and then on the 9th I will be leaving for 2 more weeks for camp! I love camp!

Well, I think thats it. See you again in about 6 months, unless, i get back into this blogging thing!

    The Ballyhoo show...

So im at school. Its pretty exciting! Classes dont actually start until tuesday, but we're enjoying the freetime and what not. Ive met some pretty cool girls, and one of my quizzers lives on my floor! Its pretty fun! We had a huge (litterally) bonfire last night, and just kind walked around and played games. Watched a little skateboarding (more falls than tricks though, lol) and got to meet the other students in my major. There are 5 of us! most of the other majors have 20 or more. One of the girls in my major (Biblical and Theological studies, BTW) is 23 and just got back from living in India for the last year with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and is trying to finish up her senior year. The other three are guys, two of them from different states, and the other was doing a year in Sweden (i think) also with YWAM. We also got to meet our professors and have a little fellowship time.

Tonight is the Ballyhoo show. Its pretty much the a Freshman talent show. The RA's are doing some skits too. Its usually fun skits and songs, but there will be a few serious songs. I met a girl named Katie from Buffalo, and another girl named Nadine from Grand Rapids, and we decided to get together and do somthing for the show. We wanted to do somthing fun, so our original plan was to sing a disney song, but eventually settled on "As long as you lone me" by the Backstreet Boys. Nadine and I are singing, while Katie is going to show off her sweet guitar skills. But Nadine and I are going to bring our guitars too, for "Moral guitar support" as we call it. So we pretty much just stand there and look cool. After we auditioned, the auditioners (is that right?) we're screaming like loyal BSB fans would, it was pretty funny. Even the guys in the Chapel started clapping a beat while we were playing, haha they loved it. So at 6 we're gonna practice before the show actually begins, and add in some sweet boy band like moves, and wear shnazzy outfits.Oh, and the auditioners asked us if we wanted some screaming girls and guys with signs in the front, haha that would be pretty great. We have a few girls already signed up for the job!

So, i must go, ive got other business to take care of before dinner and the show, so im out!

    God Bless!

  • ahhh, so i am in quiz mode right now. which stinks, cause im not a quizzer Anymore. Anyway, next week were doing a quiz demo out in Delano, so i get another chance to quiz! whoop! i'll take anything i can get!

Anyway, im coaching a team this year, and im still looking for more quizzers! We've got 3 for sure quizzers, and 2 maybe's. Luckily, one of the maybe's is dorming at Crown as PSEO, so i might just be right down the hall from her to bug her! Anyway, so if you are in the area, or know of anyone who needs a team, let me know! Im hoping we might a few stragglers at this demo thing, that i can possibly have join my team, that would be awesome!

    Desperately seeking quizzers,

    Sam
